Making magical connections

This world is amazing.wild flowers

The colours of flowers and autumn leaves. The sky, always changing. Birds singing their hearts out at the sunrise. Squirrels chasing each other through the trees.

And all those people and animals and plants in endless variety. Never two the same.

Don’t you just love it?

If you do, you will also have moments of sorrow. Times when your love for this world hurts, because you know its beauty is in danger.

Times when hope seems far away, because the challenges our world faces are so great and there is only one of you. What can you do about it, anyway?

Warrior's call circleWe are part of the community of life

You are right, of course. You on your own can do very little. But what if we re-discovered something that our society seems designed to hide from us? What if we realised that we are not alone?

We are all part of this beautiful planet, each of our lives an essential part of its wonder. And all of us are bound together by threads of connection. Together with the animals and the trees, with the rivers and the hills, and with each other, we are the community of life.

When we pay attention to those connections, and intentionally nurture them, they start to hum with life. They become a magical source of strength and support.

Will you make this magic with me?

We stand together for the flourishing of all beingsEarth Web me

As we find our communities, our loving connections with other people and with the spirits of our land, we become strong and resilient. We discover how much power we do have in the face of the world’s sorrow. We are not alone. We stand together for the flourishing of all life on this planet.

I have committed to making the magical connections that will weave me into community. And to sharing the story of how that is working for me.

Join me on this adventure and you will get:

* Regular newsletters with stories and tools for making magical connections.
* The Magic of Connection, my free nine week e-mail course.
* First dibs and discounts on my courses and anything else I may cook up in the future.

I won’t share your e-mail with anyone else, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

The story so far

I have been sharing stories of my love for the natural world and for Spirit for many years now. It’s all on my blog.

This love, and the sorrow that flows from it, has spurred me into taking action. My husband and I are renovating our house to drastically reduce our impact on the environment. Find out more here, and keep up to date on Westacre’s Facebook page.

Exploring tools for personal resilience, I have made a collection of useful practices.

I am creating courses to help you discover and nurture your own magical connections. Find out more in the Courses section.

With my friends in The Warrior’s Call – pagans united against fracking, I am inspiring people to become involved in their local anti-fracking movement. If you are of like mind, come and find out more on our web site, or join us on our Facebook page.

If you are curious about my thinking and motivation behind this adventure into community, I recommend you read these blog posts:

  1. Dear Hilde, Just to say that your words and the feelings behind them send magical shivers up and down my body so thank you for that. I have your course saved and I am sorry to say that I haven’t given myself the time & space to to begin it yet. I feel bad about not letting you know that. Techno is not my ideal means of communicating and, if it is ok with you, I’ve asked my son & husband to see if they can transfer it to cds so that I can be away from laptop when listening to it. Please let me know if not ok.
Community is so important and I’m in the process of getting to know my local druids & pagans.I’m also a founder member of our village antifracking group. Sometimes one has to wear so many different hats it gets mindboggling. Please do send newsletters and I promise to give feedback in the future. Love, Linda

    • Dear Linda,
Thank you so much for this message. It means a lot to make a connection.
Don’t feel bad about not starting the course. It’s there for you whenever the time is right. Also, the audio files are just recordings of the red stections in the course text, so you can do entirely without.
Thank you for offering your feedback. I can’t work out what people want unless I get some two-way communication started, so I really appreciate that.
Community is indeed so crucial. Thank you for your anti-fracking work. Your druid and pagan friends will be a great support in that.
I’m glad my words have touched you. Let’s see what other magic we can make.
      Love and blessings,
      Hilde
